Barbera – La Morella (2017)

Winemaker: Enio Ferretti

Soil: Limestone, Clay

Age of Vines: 30 yrs

Grape Variety(s): Barbera

Style: Dry Red

Region: Piedmont, Italy

The farm "La Morella" is located in Carezzano Superiore, in the south-west of Piedmont , at 343

meters above sea level, among the hills of Tortona, in the province of Alessandria. In the

countryside of this small village (403 inhabitants!), much appreciated for its climate and its

tranquility, the farm is engaged in organic farming since 1985: wheat, fodder and

especially grapes, which give wines typical of the territory.

Their Barbera wine comes from a south facing vineyard rich in clay and limestone.. Thanks to

these peculiarities of the ground and thanks to a short refinement in stainless steel tanks, they

obtain a wine wine which has the ruby color and a refined bouquet, characteristics which

distinguish it . Somewhat unqiue, both the acid and fruit are high with this wine. It is a structured

wine that could benefit from a bit of aging, and best enjoyed with fattier, grilled/roasted meats.

Rosé – Domaine Guion (2018)

Winemaker: Stephane Guion

Soil: Limestone, Clay

Age of Vines: 20 yrs

Grape Variety(s): Cabernet Franc

Style: Dry Rosé

Region: Loire, France

One of our favorite producers! We just got this delicious Rosé of Cabernet Franc in stock to

usher in the changing seasons. Despite making miniscule quantities, we highly anticipate

whenever we can get our hands on this wine. The limestone mineral notes are evident on

the palate of this wine that speaks directly to the vineyard in which it was grown. Raised

entirely in steel, this Rosé is fresh and structured. 2018 was on the warmer side and that’s

evident in the higher than normal fruity notes in this wine. Drink with just about anything!
