Last week, I visited Shalom Farm for the first time. This farm was one of my favorite places even before I ever stepped foot in the fields. The thoughtful reach of the people and programs of this sustainable farm bring health and life to our city.
Shalom Farm is a ministry of the United Methodist Church, and through vast donations to the Food Bank, a Prescription Produce Program and their youth run farm stand program, heathy food access becomes a collaborative process. The farm itself is learning laboratory which hosts thousands of volunteers (of all ages!) each year.
If you would like to volunteer, check out their website for more information. People of all ages and abilities are welcome! In the mean time, look for their beautiful veggies at Little House!
